POWER THOUGHTS


Our mind-body connection is such a powerful tool to be our optimum selves. By having a positive and uplifting mindset, we gain self-awareness of our potential and are then able to achieve whatever we set our minds to. There are times we may struggle with self-doubt and lack of confidence at different points of our lives and it’s important to realize that we all go through this. However, this mentality can take a huge toll on your ability to be your best self as well as a huge toll on your health. We have laid out for you some key power thoughts to help you readjust your thinking and take control over your mind.

1. Maintain the right attitude when things get tough. Being in the habit of having a positive attitude is crucial during times when you’re struggling to get through a tough situation. If you are determined to have a strong mindset beforehand while things are going well, you will be so much more empowered to handle when difficulty arises. In relation to your fitness journey, sometimes it may be tough to gain motivation to hit the gym, get in the last few reps, balance out your eating habits, the list goes on and on. It’s crucial to have this mindset in all situations so that when things get tough, you get tougher.

2. Self-Discipline and Self-Control. Being able to maintain discipline and control is extremely important in achieving your fitness goals. This enables you to stay focused and though it requires great work, it comes with great rewards. Being disciplined and controlled all starts in the mind. When we are able to visualize our goals, it helps us to produce a determined mindset that is geared towards achieving it. Now I know this is much easier said than done, so trying this mental trick can really empower you to create a disciplined mindset. As you make your decisions throughout the day, try looking at it in one of two ways: is it going to help you get closer to your goal or not? By implementing this mindset with, even the smallest decisions, it will help you to properly handle bigger and more challenging choices that come your way. Making decisions based on whether or not it will enhance your character is such a powerful and effective mindset to have when aiming to be your optimum self.

3. Keep things in perspective.

When we expect to always perform to perfection or receive instant gratification, we often set ourselves up for disappointment. We put so much pressure on ourselves that when we fall short, we may feel discouraged and ready to give up. It’s important to have set realistic and achievable goals on your wellness journey. When you start to compare yourself to others it often sets your mind to back track. It’s great to have something to aspire too but detrimental when you spend so much time thinking of yourself as any lesser. Every single person has the potential to reach their fitness goal. It’s all about consistency and dedication. Getting results requires taking action and being focused on the end goal.

Training our minds to start adjusting our thoughts is not an easy, overnight process. It takes time and practice to naturally be able to implement these power thoughts. It’s great to start small and work your way up to being able to handle the challenges that come our way. By then, these power thoughts will be so habitual that you will become stronger and more enabled to face them head on.
