Top 5 Fitness Favorites of July

If you're looking to new ways to optimize your health, here are my top 5 recommendations I've tried out this month that have been giving awesome results in respects to physical, nutritional, and mental health.

1) QUEST BARS Protein bars are such a great snack when you're on the go or for fueling yourself before/after a workout. Sadly, finding a healthy protein bar can be pretty tricky. Most bars that promote themselves as being healthy have unnecessary high amounts of sugar and carbs with low amounts of protein so there is little benefit to gain (always read the labels on the back!). Quest Bars are one of the few brands out there that are affordable, healthy, and actually tasty. My personal go to's this month have been Cookie Dough and Chocolate Mint but if you haven't bought the products before I recommend starting with a variety pack and figuring out from there which ones are your personal favorites!

2) Scivation Xtend BCAA'S

If you're looking for a muscle recovery product, this is for you. I am absolutely loving this BCAA supplement as it really helps to keep me fueled before, during, and after my workouts. BCAA stands for Branch Chain Amino Acids which aids in muscle recovery. The more efficiently you are able to recover your muscle, the more efficiently your muscle will be able to grow. This formula also includes Citrulline Malate, Electrolytes, Leucine and L-glutamine for effective protein resynthesis/recovery. If that wasn't good enough, the blue raspberry flavor is just amazing. If you struggle to get in your daily intake of water, this powder helps add flavor so you'll be motivated to hit your water goal as well (this is also a great alternative if you struggle to cut out sugary, carb filled drinks).

3) DNA MATCHA

Now I've mentioned the benefits of matcha before in a previous blog post. This brand is one I plan on sticking with for a while as it's formula is so concentrated as well as organic to provide maximum health benefits for your body. I love to start each morning with 2-3 teaspoons of matcha powder with lemon juice so I fuel my body with the energy and antioxidants it needs. I always feel so refreshed starting my day with this drink and love the natural source of energy it provides.

4) VEGA PROTEIN POWDER I've been trying to experiment to different protein powders to get a feel for what my body responds best to and I discovered this amazing blend. This fuels you with a great ratio of 20 grams of protein per 120 calories and is also mixed with greens blend of kale, spinach, broccoli and alfalfa. The best part is, you can't even taste the greens over the yummy chocolate flavor. This powder is seriously amazing as it's provides your body with protein as well as nutrient dense greens and tastes so good you'll be surprised it's actually good for you!

5) PRIMAL BLUEPRINT The Primal Blueprint program is a great read if you want to better understand your body and how to meet its primal needs to achieve your desired fitness results. Mark Sisson created his revolutionary guide that helps to reprogram your genes and allow for your body to be it's optimal self through eating and training the way were were designed to do so. You'll be amazed how implementing Primal habits into your routine can make such a huge difference on your fitness results.
